Jenny is a research assistant with interests in infectious disease control, management, and epidemiology, maternal and child health, and health system strengthening. As a member of the Smith Lab, Jenny is participating in the COVID-19 prospective meta-analysis and assisting with literature review and data analyses to research on the impact of different COVID-19 variants on pregnant women’s health outcomes. Outside of lab, she serves as a voluntary research collaborator with the WHO/PAHO to support developing the COVID-19 clinical management reports and to continue with her primary project on the virus reactivation and coinfection incidence among COVID-19 patients. Before joining GWU, she worked as a project manager and research associate within the Bioinformatics division at Seoul National University for national projects on cancer recurrence prediction, re-defining diabetes, and COVID-19 patient clinical characterization, and research assistant at the USDA/ARS Trace Mineral Unit to investigate the clinical effects of biofortified crops on iron and zinc deficiencies.
